A summer Institute in 2013 gathered a number of leaders working in the field of higher education.

Narrative: A summer Institute we are going to introduce is a new way of learning for leaders for tomorrow.
The 10-day Institute is not just a seminar or a training workshop but a great learning experience for everybody. ( characteristics: use the word cloud keywords)

The Summer Institute is organized at the point when most Asian nations are actively developing their higher education systems. It will lead to a community of higher education leaders in Asia. In 2013, the summer institute has welcomed delegates from 10 different countries and areas.

Participants have joined various activities such as lectures and workshops to exchange and share their visions, insights, experiences and challenges among leaders in higher education systems and institutions across Asia. A round-table discussion is among established higher education leaders on salient issues of common concern. Summer Institute participants are invited as observers.

They are provided opportunities for a close observation on the divisions or faculties attached to HKU for their first-hand experience and understanding of running a world-class university.

All the activities are not limited within HKU but also broaden the participants’ horizons to understand HK as an educational hub by external visit to other institutions.

Besides in-class communications, participants have free and informal talks during the lunch hours with their peers and the overseas distinguished guest speakers.

It has been recognized as a very successful programme by all the participants and we look forward to the next coming-forth summer institute in 2014.
